Did you celebrate Bonfire Night this year?

I don’t know about you, but I thought that Guy Fawkes night was especially quiet yesterday. Whereas normally fireworks start going off in late October, reaching a climax on the 5th November, this year I’ve only seen a seldom few in the night sky.
Perhaps it’s the recession (though that didn’t stop Halloween being bigger than ever) or maybe people are concerned about the environmental or health and safety aspects – we’ve already heard that virtual ‘nonfires‘ are now taking over from the real thing in Devon and even Guy Fawkes’ home town of York didn’t have any firework celebrations because it was would have been too expensive.
And to top all that off, yesterday the Telegraph asked us if fireworks should be banned completely because of their poor environmental credentials.
So, did you celebrate with a firework display or host a bonfire in your garden? If so then we’d love to see your photos – send them in to us here. Our favourites will each receive one of our personalised sparker notebooks, as shown below, and will be featured on our blog too!
I asked everybody in the office to send me their Bonfire night pics too and received this photo from Peter, our Online Marketing Manager, who said that this snap summed up his family’s attempts at a firework spectacular…

Enough said.
